Whiteout Survival Bear Trap

Last Updated on: 14th March 2024, 08:08 pm

The Bear Trap is one of the most important alliance events you should join if you want to grow fast and don’t want to be left behind in your alliance. In this guide, I will share tips and tricks I learned from my experience, and this guide will help you rank high in damage ranking.

Many members in my alliance used to rank higher in the bear event, even though they ranked in the top 20 in Alliance. Many powerful players were ranked lower than them because they didn’t know the tips you will learn now.

Let’s get into it.

Detailed Whiteout Survival Bear Trap Guide

Follow the following tips as it is to multiply your damage to the Bear and rank higher in Bear Trap.

Basic Tips – Before Bear Trap Event

Before getting into the main guide, let’s discuss some tips to maximize the chances of a higher ranking.

Teleport Near To Bear Trap

Your alliance will place the strongest players of the alliance around the bear trap to maximize the damage; if you are a top player, then you are good to go.

If not, then teleport near Bear Trap as close as possible to minimize the time to join strong players. (You will learn more about it later in this guide)

Be Online 5 Minutes Before Bear Trap

  • Make sure you are online 5 minutes before the bear trap
  • Turn Off Auto Join
  • Recall Troops from gathering resources.
  • Recall your reinforcements if you sent any
  • Make sure all of your troops are in the city
  • Donate the “Arrowheads” If you haven’t yet. (Read Donate Explosive Arrowheadsbelow if you don’t know how to donate and what it does)

Turn On Boosts – Must Do

In whiteout survival, you can turn on boosts in the war tab to maximize the troops’ Attack, Lethality, and deployment capacity (only turn on deployment capacity if you are the most powerful in the alliance).

  • Click the Arrow Under The Profile Pic
  • Click Troops Attacks – Turn On 10% Boost
  • Click Troops Lethality – Turn On 10% Boost

I will recommend using the 10% boost for 2000 Gems; if you have 20% boosts, save them for State Vs State Or Castle Events.

While hunting beasts or completing intel missions, you will receive explosive arrowheads as a reward. You can donate these arrowheads by clicking on the bear trap > Trap Enhancement > Contribute.

It will enhance the trap power, and you will gain a combat bonus. You will also receive x200 alliance coins for each contribution. The more damage you deal, the higher you rank.

Now, you can move on to the next steps to maximize the damage to bear.

Alliance’s Top 10 Players (Most Important)

If you are in the Alliance’s top 10 ranking, you can send your rally of main heroes to deal damage to bear (Turn On Deployment Capacity If you are Top 3 in your alliance).

If you are not in the top 10, then don’t send rallies; instead, join the powerful players (In the top 10 Alliance ranking) rallies.

Rallies started by powerful players will use their heroes’ powers and state bonuses to help your troops deal more damage. You will be using their bonuses and heroes to gain more damage.

In the following headings, I will discuss how you can join their rallies quickly and set up formations to join as soon as possible. If you know these tips from this blog, many more will know them as the state progresses.

But first, train more troops so you can get the most out of the rallies.

If you want to be in the Top 10 players, read my whiteout Survival guide to boost your power and growth.

Train More Troops And Upgrade Heroes

Upgrade Heroes and train as many troops as possible. Always make sure your troops’ buildings are busy, and you are always training troops. The more troops you have, the more damage you deal to the bear and the higher ranking you get in the event.

For Bear Trap, you should have at least 600K troops (huge number? No, many strong players will have millions of troops). If you don’t have that many troops, you can still rank in bear trap 3 times better than before you read this blog.

Wait a moment, If you want to learn more about maximizing your troops, this detailed Whiteout Survival Troops Guide is For You.

Let’s set up formations to minimize the time to join rallies.

Focus On Battle Research

In the Research Center, research battle tech to improve the attack of lancers and Marksman. More damage means a higher ranking. The reason I am not talking about focusing on infantry is because infantry doesn’t deal damage; they defend against attacks.

NOTE: Also, focus on Infantry; it is equally important, in my experience, the most important, to defend against strong players while being attacked.

Set Up Formations

Before you start reading, make sure you have unlocked the formations; if you are a beginner player, then all you have to do is follow Step 5 instead of this. Don’t forget to bookmark this blog post so you can come back later to set up troop formations for Bear Trap.

If you don’t know about troop formation, Troop formation helps you organize your troops and heroes; when you want to join a rally, you can just click on the formation number where you saved the heroes and the number of troops you want to send.

NOTE: Always update Formations hours before the bear trap; if you are constantly upgrading your city, you can increase the number of troops in formation.

Divide your troops into all the unlocked formations so you can join rallies of more powerful players.

Let’s make it more simple for you to set up troop formations for Bear Trap:

  • Click Profile Pic > Troops > Troops Formation at the bottom.
    Troop Formation Button
  • Click Formation 1: We will use Formation 1 to send our rally (If you are in the Top 10 in Alliance, we will use this formation to join powerful players); assign your top 3 heroes evenly.
    Formation 1
  • Click Save. The Formation list will pop up; choose Formation 1 and click Confirm.
  • Now, Remove heroes of Formation 1 and select heroes for Formation 2 (must be your 4th, 5th, and 6th powerful heroes). Evenly distribute the troops.
  • Again, Click Save Formation list will pop up; choose Formation 2 and click Confirm.

Repeat The Process till you save the 5 Formations (based on your troops, you might have troops under 400 – 500k). Don’t worry; make sure you save as many formations as possible so you can join rallies quickly.

Different Scenario: Sometimes, when we join someone powerful, others try to join them. In that scenario, all of your troops will not join the rally, so you make sure you keep joining the powerful player’s rallies till you are out of troops.

NOTE: If you are not fast, then you might fill up your march queues, and then you will be left with many troops; it will result in lower damage, so be fast, my fellow survivor.

Equalize Troops In Multiple Rallies

If you have not unlocked multiple formations, then you can follow this and join powerful players by equalizing troops in all rallies and using their hero powers and state bonuses to deal damage to bear.

All you have to do is:

  1. Open War Tab
  2. Look for rallies of powerful players
  3. When you Join their Rally, It will show your heroes and troops to deploy
  4. Click Equalize at the bottom and Deploy
  5. Repeat the process and max out your March queues
  6. Make sure you only join powerful players

NOTE: When you join the rally of your alliance’s most powerful player, make sure you don’t click equalize and send as many troops as possible to maximize the damage by using powerful players’ heroes and state bonuses.

Last 6 Minutes

In the last 6 minutes, players will stop making rallies; make sure you don’t wait for strong players to make rallies and make your own rally before the last 6 minutes and join any player that can reach the trap before time runs out.

Different Scenarios

In this situation, you will have to identify the best scenario and act accordingly. In the beginning, it will be difficult to identify the best thing to do, but as you spend more time in this game, you will improve the damage in the last 6 minutes.

This is really useful, thank you! Do you know where you can see your past bear trap scores? I know I’ve sent them before but I don’t seem to be able to find them again!

Hello, everyone sends Molly when joining, because she’s usually the most powerful.
But Jessie, Jasser and Seo-yoon give attack bonus to all troops.
So it’s good to use them as leaders, I think. This part is completely missing in your cool guide.

Thank you too, the guide is otherwise perfect and perfectly composed!
Also maybe elaborate on rally leader vs participants.
For the leader, all abilities apply, is that correct? So the leader should use his strongest heroes, whilst participants should combine their leaders?

Like is it better if there is a mix of these three heroes?

Many thanks for the guide! 🙂
