In this guide, I will share important information about upgrading requirements for the furnace levels in Whiteout Survival, a game that has become a significant part of my daily routine.
As someone who has played this game for months, I understand how challenging it can be to find straightforward, detailed information. I wrote this blog to help my fellow survivors get the most out of their time on the game.
Upgrading the Furnace in Whiteout Survival is the most crucial part of the game; it affects every part of your city and unlocks many advanced items, buildings, boosts, and troops. In this guide, I’ll provide a detailed breakdown of the upgrade requirements for each furnace level, from level 1 to level 30, and advanced Fire Crystal (FC) levels upgrade Requirements.
NOTE: All the information for furnace upgrade requirements is updated, and whenever new updates come to “Whiteout Survival”, I will update the blog post from time to time accordingly.
Why is “Furnace” Upgrade Important?
In the early stages of playing Whiteout Survival, I didn’t pay much attention to upgrading the Furnace. It seemed like just another task on the list, which is not. However, as the game progressed, I realized its importance.
A level 30 Furnace enhances your city’s heating system (Keeps Visitors Warm and Happy) and unlocks many buildings, boosts, technologies, and, most importantly, tier 10 troops.
This guide aims to offer clear, concise information about furnace upgrades, something I wish I had when I started playing.
Importance Of Furnace Upgrade From Level 1 To 30
Upgrading your Furnace from level 1 to 30 in Whiteout Survival is more than just a routine task; it’s a strategic move that can significantly influence your gameplay. Here’s why:
- Survivor Happiness: A higher-level furnace provides better warmth and living conditions for your survivors; keeping them healthy and efficient means fewer strikes and more resources.
- Game Progression: Each furnace level unlocks new buildings and features, expanding your city’s capabilities.
- Resource Management: A higher furnace level means we unlock more upgrades in resource building. We also get more rewards from intel missions and high Idle income in the Exploration chest and city resources.
If you have not yet reached Furnace level 30, you can skip the Fire Crystal part and jump to “Reduce Furnace Upgrade Time“.
Importance Of Fire Crystal (FC1 To FC5) Furnace Upgrade
The Fire Crystal upgrades, from FC1 to FC5, introduce a new realm of possibilities in Whiteout Survival:
- Enhanced Power: Each FC level significantly boosts your city’s power and unlocks many new skills for troops.
- New Skin (Very Cool): Fire Crystal levels offer new skins for buildings (Every building that can be upgraded gets skin with Fire Crystal), adding a visual appeal to your city.
- Beyond High-tier Troops: Upgrading your Military Camps with Fire Crystals transforms your troops, enhancing their skills and stats even more.
For instance, reaching FC3 gives your troops additional skills, and FC5 upgrades these skills further, making your military might formidable.
How To Reduce Furnace Upgrade Time?
Never ever upgrade Furnace without using these buffs; it will reduce the upgrade time.
Double Time In Chief Order Buiding
- Cooldown: 24 hours
- Time Reduced: 20%
- Active Time: 5 Minutes
Found in the Chief’s House, this order (Double Time) can be activated once a day to reduce building or upgrade times by 20% for 5 minutes.
TIP: I recommend using this when upgrade time is ridiculous. I also use it to upgrade two buildings to get the most out of it; for example, After this buff, I usually upgrade the Furnace and one more important building, and both will have time reduced because of this buff.
Hyena’s Skill
- Cooldown: 23 – 24 hours (based on Hyena’s Level)
- Construction Speed: 10 – 12% (based on Hyena’s Level)
- Active Time: 5 Minutes
Once you unlock pets (accessible at Furnace level 18), use Hyena’s skill to reduce upgrade times by 10 – 15% (Based on Hyena’s Level).
“Tooling Up” Research in Research Center
- Cooldown: No
- Construction Speed: Up to 27.80%
- Active Time: Permanent
Maxing out this research option significantly reduces construction times by 27.80%. When trying to maximize the furnace level, this upgrade is very important. Make sure you are focusing on this in the tech research centre.
Unlock Zinman
- Cooldown: No
- Construction Speed: Up to 15% (Based On Skill Level)
- Reduce Upgrade Cost: 15% (Based On Skill Level)
- Active Time: Permanent
This Mythic Hero’s “Construction Emergency” skill can reduce city upgrades by 15%. Zinman not only reduces the time to upgrade, but his skill “Resourceful” also reduced the upgrade cost by 15%.
Zinman is a very important hero, and you must buy him at the beginning of the game when we need to upgrade a lot of buildings; his skills will save resources and time to power up your city effectively.
Join an Active Alliance
Being part of an active alliance that conducts Alliance Tech Research, specifically “Adaptive Tools,” increases construction speed for all members.
This is very powerful, and it reduces so much time; if you are Alliance’s R4 or R5, make sure you are focusing on this skill to speed up your member’s growth.
Use Speedups
Obtain speedups through daily missions, events, shops, and intel missions to instantly reduce upgrade times. If you are active player and have joined an active alliance, you will have a lot of speedups to spend every day.
Implementing these strategies can significantly reduce the time required for furnace upgrades, accelerating your city’s development and growth in Whiteout Survival.
(TABLE) Furnace Upgrade Requirements (Level 1 to Level 30)
When I was playing the game, this information was difficult to find, and I didn’t know that we could use different buffs to reduce the upgrade time, so don’t forget to use buffs before upgrading buildings.
NOTE: Upgrade Time mentioned in the table below is calculated without bonuses; when you follow my tips mentioned above, the time will be reduced.

Strategic Insights and Tips for Furnace Upgrades
Upgrading the Furnace in Whiteout Survival is more than just a routine task; it’s a strategic decision that impacts your overall gameplay and is the most important part of the game. Here are some insights and tips to make the most out of your furnace upgrades:
Plan Ahead for Resource Management
Each furnace upgrade requires a significant amount of resources. It’s crucial to plan and ensure you have enough materials saved up. Keep an eye on the requirements for upcoming levels so you can start gathering necessary resources early.
Balance Your Upgrades
While focusing on furnace upgrades, don’t neglect other essential buildings and units in your city. A balanced approach ensures steady progress across all aspects of the game.
Utilize Boosts and Bonuses
Look out for special boosts by the state president that can speed up your upgrades or reduce resource costs. Timing your upgrades during these periods can be highly beneficial; I hope your state has a good and active president.
Prioritize Key Upgrades
Some levels unlock particularly important features or buildings (like the Beast Cage at Level 18). Prioritize these upgrades to gain strategic advantages over other players.
Understand the Impact of Each Level
Each upgrade level comes with its own set of unlocks and advantages. Understanding what each level offers can help you prioritize upgrades based on your gameplay style.
Consider Long-term Benefits
This is very important; some upgrades might seem less significant in the short term but can offer substantial benefits in the long run. Weigh the immediate costs against long-term gains.
For example, many players that are Furnace level 30 are not that powerful and have a lower power level, which might seem like a waste of resources and not effectively upgrade the city, but in the long term, they will win because they will get a massive boost in power when they have no upgrades to make only focus their resources on Tier 10 troops.
Monitor Your Power Growth
Keep track of how each upgrade impacts your overall power. This metric is a good indicator of your city’s strength and readiness for various challenges in the game.
Final Words
Upgrading the Furnace is one of the most important tasks in Whiteout Survival; I will suggest upgrading the Furnace as fast as possible, and my Furnace upgrade requirement table, along with the tips I mentioned above, which I learned from playing Whiteout Survival for months, will help you reach higher Furnace level as fast as possible. Always use the buffs before upgrades to get the most out of your time and resources.
